As of July 1, 2021, Medicaid has moved to a whole-person managed care approach. With a goal of improving care management, integration of services, and addressing unmet social needs that contribute to poor health, Medicaid beneficiaries are required to visit their primary care physician (PCP) for all non-emergency healthcare needs, including, but not limited to, physicals for school, work and sports. Due to this change in Medicaid’s policy, Mercy Urgent Care will no longer be able to accept Medicaid for wellness related visits such as physicals. We urge all Medicaid eligible patients to take advantage of these special program benefits. Learn more here.
