Occ-Med Services Made Easy

June 16, 2025 by Keely Knopp
As an employer, the well-being of your workforce is a crucial part of your business. Ensuring access to care through top-tier, highly qualified healthcare professionals benefits both the employer and the employee.
In order to streamline access for all parties, we’ve made recent updates to our Mercy Occupational Medicine process. These new steps are designed to simplify the process, providing your business and employees with better access to Mercy’s Occ-Med services.
Service Setup Form
If you haven’t done so recently, a representative from your company should complete or update the Employer Services Setup Form. This step ensures that contact information and authorized Occ-Med services are up-to-date in Mercy Urgent Care’s system—this can be updated at any time.
Service Authorization
A service authorization form needs to be completed on behalf of every employee who is sent to Mercy Urgent Care for Occ-Med services. To make the visit more seamless, we recommend completing this step before sending an employee to Mercy. Authorization for each employee is valid for one calendar year and can be updated at any time.
Employer Portal Access
Our new Employer Portal through AthenaHealth allows you to keep track of employee Occ-Med visits (excluding personal visits) and pay outstanding bills. Employees have access to their own personalized patient portal.
Utilize Occ-Med Services
Take advantage of Mercy’s Occ-Med services immediately! Employees are welcome to walk into one of our eight locations or schedule a visit ahead of time. In need of after-hours drug testing? Mercy Urgent Care also offers 24/7 drug screening and alcohol breath testing. Enroll your business in Screen 24/7 services.
Drug Test Results Portal—Coming Soon
Mercy Urgent Care will soon offer drug test results via a secure online portal, in addition to email. Our portal will provide 24/7 access to drug screens and breath alcohol test results and serve as a convenient, centralized database for future reference and compliance needs. Look for more information in the coming weeks!
