Mercy Urgent Care will host its annual Mercy For Haiti fundraiser to support the not-for-profit organization’s international missions to Haiti. Proceeds from the event will help continue equipping the new Alpha Omega Medical Ministry in Source Matelas, Haiti. Come party with a purpose!
The art-filled party features a live auction, a silent auction and heavy hors d’oeuvres, with a cash bar.
Art for the silent and live auction will include ethereal landscape works by Asheville artist Karen Keil Brown and three unique Tree of Life steel wall sculptures from artists in Haiti, as well as pieces by many other local and regional artists. Please join us for an evening of fun, friendship and meaning.
The Catherine McAuley Mercy Foundation was founded to help people in need — whether through Mercy Urgent Care’s Compassionate Care program, which allows Mercy to provide affordable care to the residents of WNC, or on medical missions abroad. Haiti is the most impoverished country in the Western Hemisphere — and, since the deadly, 7.0-magnitude earthquake hit Haiti in January 2010, Mercy Urgent Care has dispatched a team of volunteers on 29 separate trips to provide medical care to the people of this Caribbean country. (Additionally, Mercy made one trip in 2013 to provide medical support to the Philippines.) Proceeds from the Mercy for Haiti event (and other contributions, accepted any time) benefit the Alpha Omega Medical Ministry, a thriving clinic in Source Matelas that serves anyone in the region who needs medical attention. No one is turned away.
