Mercy Urgent Care is gearing up for its ninth annual Mercy Golf Classic fundraiser on Friday, September 21, 2018, at Reems Creek Golf Club, 36 Pink Fox Cove Road, Weaverville, NC. Check-in begins at 9:15 a.m. with range balls available and a 10 a.m. shotgun start. Awards will follow play at approximately 3:30 p.m., leaving plenty of time to make the Friday night lights. Proceeds from the Mercy Golf Classic benefit not-for-profit Mercy Urgent Care’s Catherine McAuley Mercy Foundation, which provides a half-million dollars in free and under-compensated care annually through medical mission efforts both locally and internationally. The 23rd and 24th international medical relief teams will serve in Haiti this fall.
Cost to participate is $125 per person, which includes golf, a mulligan, a delicious barbecue lunch, and drinks – with sponsorship opportunities available. A 50/50 raffle and additional mulligans and red tees will be available for purchase. Prizes include a two-night stay at the Crowne Plaza Resort, as well as rounds of golf at the Omni Grove Park Inn, Broadmoor, Reems Creek, Etowah Valley Country Club, Kenmure, and Mount Mitchell.
Supported by the Catherine McAuley Mercy Foundation, Mercy Urgent Care provides important humanitarian work locally in Western North Carolina through their Compassionate Care program — as well as internationally in Haiti since 2010 and the Philippines in 2013.
Team Mercy works closely with the communities in which they serve to stay informed about the needs of its members. Other fundraising events are also held throughout the year, during which the public can provide financial support for purchasing medical equipment for facilities, supporting relief teams and caring for people in need.
